Well, Anna Wintour is all of the above (head of Vogue) and she's favoured a blunt bob for years:

i think first of all they have to look healthyWhat hair style is flatterig for a fifty year old fashionable %26amp; attractive woman?
It really depends on your hair type and face shape but as a 42 year old I would say that soft layers and some highlights or lowlights are the most youthful look. I recently spent 2 years growing my hair into a one length bob only to find that the precision style was a bit too harsh for me now. I've had it cut quite short with long choppy layers and rough dry it so it waves naturally. I look much younger.
I also like really short (think Annie Lennox) type cuts but you do need fab features to get away with it.
Go For a smart short hair. Have a look around you! Women in your age with long hair look older! So go for a short style hair.. Its practical, sexier, smarter.. and most of all look younger!!! xxx
If you want longer hair get it really choppy and really layered it will make you look younger a few highlights or low lights similar to your own colour but maybe a tone or shade higher or lower.
if you want shorter hair a ';pob'; is like a bob but its more styled its more short at the back and it gets longer as it comes round. get it darker underneath and lighter on top...but not too light because then it will look Overdone
Autumn colours its always advised you go darker in autumn months but you dont have to you can stand out and go lighter or if you are going darker coppery browns and purpley browns are HOT! if your going blonde dont go platinum that's CRAZY! go for an ash or a honey blonde
DO NOT! GET A PERM, DO NOT GET IT CROPPED, DO ONT GET IT CHEAP AND TARTY LOOKING! If your having it long make sure its very layered and styled
hope i helped xxx
I can try and answer that as a man who notices women who look special. First of all I believe hair styles should be matched to the Shape of a woman's face, and complexion. Then it is important to focus on the Health of your hair Styles should be thought of at the end and should go with the attire.
I think any woman could look a lot more beautiful than she sometimes would believe possible. Your question suggests your positive attitude.
I think you have to be careful. Styles such as graduated bobs look good but next year the trends will change. First of all, it depends upon the texture of your hair, whether its frizzy, straight, or kinky.
I dont think really long style will look good. I would say anything below the shoulders is a faux pass. Layered hair looks really nice and layered bobs also look stylish too. You dont have to hack your hair off, but dont have it so long that you look like a witch.
My wife is a very very attractive, %26amp; fashionable fifty ++ year old woman who was mistaken for our 33 year old daughters sister. She has a graduated bob hair style with full head colour. she is naturally blonde. Her hair looks fab. :0))
i would say a bob cause there very in and all aged ppl look good with them xx
A shiny bob would look amazing. Short hair is very fashionable. It would create a young feel, especially if a hint of layers were added!
Also, a sideswept fringe would be a cute addition. A bob with a consistant shape can look a tad boring.
The answer from spikeanangel is great. That person sounds like a stylist.
a bob long at the front short at the back easy to do and smart good luck
depending on your face shape, but I'd go for something like a bob with choppy layers and maybe a fringe
maybe try something like this, just because your 50 doesnt mean u cant have hair like younger people...even something simple will look fine with accesseries:

Hi I am a Mature female and own a salon, so I see a lot of mature females and different styles, it is a fallacy that because you get older you should cut your hair, total rubbish
there is some fantastic styles about, depending on your face shape, I have a inverted bob and my hair is blonde, the back is taken in high and tight, and the bob goes to my jaw, the A line bob is in great demand, however you should choose the style you like, and as a stylist I always spend time in consultation with my clients, and have computer imaging so they can see the style on them first, nice to hear from a more mature female
Hair net and rollers
it all really depends on your face shape, if you have a round face you dont want too much body at the sides, if a long/thin face then you dont want too much body on top, but could look good with a full fringe, or even an asymetric, graduated fringe, however in short, I think that shorter styles with a great deal of texture and quite short in the neck are really flattering, more often than not long styles are aging, and if you have long hair I should consider a total re-style, do you have colour? There are all maner of different styles, I would suggest that you arm yourself with lots of pictures of styles that you like, try to get as many different styles as you can as quite often folk go with one pic and their hair is nothing like in the pic regards texture, volume curl etc. and consult with your stylist, they knoe your hair and should be able to guide you with the appropriate style and form...
hope this proves helpfull...
