Long--too long--hair can pull a face down and make you appear older than you are, especially if you have any gray. Short, or shorter do's can bring new life to your face and effectively take a decade off your appearence. The key is finding a stylist and a do that will work for you. There is no one hairdo that will work for women in their 40's. It depends on face shape, style of person, and what they will feel good with. Make sure you communicate your wishes and your druthers to stylist, then go for it--if you end up hating it--well, it will always grow back! But before any regret, listen to what your friends and family say about your new do. i dont reckon short hair wud make a person older. i guess its how they wud like to be perceived by other people..

not necessarily, you just have to find out what do looks cute on you, if your worried about looking older. i have found most men like longer hair, it can be medium and still be not so hard to manage! good luck!

I believe that short hair makes you look taller, slimmer. I know a couple of women in their 60s who have shoulder-length gray hair and, quite frankly, they look like aging hippies -- and they would even if they dyed their hair. The women with short, soft curls look very neat and perky.





The exception to this is me. I have a wattle, and short hair emphasizes it. So does long hair.
